Skinless

Band: Skinless

Album: Progression Towards Evil

 Genre: Death Metal

 Year: 1998

 Country: USA

 Tracklist:
1.Confines Of Human Flesh
2.Extermination Of My Filthy Species

5.Cuntaminated
6.Scum Cookie
7.Bobbing For Heads
8.Fetus Goulash
9.Crispy Kids
10.Milk and innards (Live)

Technically impressive US Death Metal has to sound like this and not others.
The band from New York combines diversity and musical finesse with a pretty heavy sound and indescribable brutality. SKINLESS do not ever step on the accelerator and so are speedy and groovy parts balanced, what causes the rise of the pressure from this disc. The razor sharp production supports that and completes the songs.

The conceptual aspect of Timeline: The Beginning and End of Everything may be the most interesting part of this album for sci-fi fans and science geeks. The lyrics here tell the story of the universe, right from the Big Bang all the way through the distant collapse of the universe. Match up this unique concept (surely not one often covered in black/death metal) with some of the most kick-ass extreme metal I've heard this year, and you have a winner for sure!
The production is clear and powerful, without ever sounding over-produced. This album was entirely engineered, produced, mixed, and mastered by Ron Vento - in addition to being an excellent musician, it seems he also has a clue about making a stellar production.

Arkhon Infaustus

Country: France

Tracklist:

6. Narcofili sancti
07. Evanggelion youdas
8. Annunciation to the holy ghost
09. Orthodoxyn

Extreme black/death with their  installment of psychotic malevolence. a better production while retaining the same ugliness somehow.  There is a general rawness to the sound but it remains powerful.  Truthfully, every blasting tremlo riffing strain in this album is enough to make any metalheads brains explode all over the wall in the name of the great beast himself.

Atmosphere, Symphonic Metal, Roman mythology. if you like this mix, check this.=)
Well, Romulus combines death metal with symphonic elements to create an epic sound. Some intensity is sacrificed for melody and atmosphere, but there’s still plenty of aggression here. Leduc’s keyboards are a really strong influence. From subtle background atmospheres to front and center symphonic parts, the keyboards add a lot.
